It was a big night over at Warner Bros. With Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam set to hit theaters this Friday and it’s post-credit scene already leaked online (we won’t spoil it just in case you haven’t seen it), things are looking up for the DC film universe. However, we didn’t know how up until THR dropped a major story towards the end of the day that outlined the plans for what is to come from DC over the next few years.
The first big announcement is that Henry Cavill is back in tights and he’s suiting up for Man of Steel 2. There’s no word on whether this will be more of a reboot or if they will be keeping aspects of the Snyderverse storyline for the new film.
It looks like that won’t be the only super project we’ll be seeing as Johnson is also working on geting a Superman vs Black Adam film made
Meanwhile, they announced that Flash 2 already has a completed script. The real question there is whether Ezra Millier will be back to reprise the role, or if they’ll be replaced after all of the trouble they’ve had and their current legal woes.
James Gunn also looks like he’s building his catalog with Warner Bros as they’ve announced that he’s not only working on the second season of Peacemaker, but he’s also developing a secret DC film for the studio.
Finally, Matt Reeve’s The Batman has now officially greenlit a sequel with Robert Pattinson returning and he will also be developing several shows Bat shows for HBO Max in the same vein as the upcoming Collin Ferrell Penguin series. The shows, which are all set to be based around Batman villains will include Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Pyg, with additional characters in development.
