Warner Bros. has hired Van Robichaux and Evan Susser to rewrite the adaptation of the classic Hanna-Barbera Jetson cartoon.

According to Variety, the duo has been task with rewriting the live-action Jetson movie, originally written by Adam F. Goldberg.

We’re unsure what the rewrite entails, and not much is known about the adaptation aside from the obvious that it will be about the Jetson family: George, Jane, Judy, and Elroy.

“The Jetsons” first aired in 1962 as Hanna-Barbera’s futuristic answer to “The Flintstones.” In 1990, Warner Bros released a cartoon version of the show directed by Joseph Barbera.

Despite looking cool in real life, “The Flintstones” movies were pretty awful by my standards. I can only hope that The Jetsons fairs better and that this rewrite is a start of a promising new franchise.
