We aren’t talking about the Cara Danvers/ Kara Zor-El that currently inhabits the CW’s Arrowverse. We’re talking about a full-blown, big screen Supergirl movie. Deadline is reporting that Warner Bros has tapped a writer with the questionable credits of 22 Jump Street and The Cloverfield Paradox to tackle the script for the film. Currently, that is all we know.
In theory, we are looking at a new film for the DCEU, but it could also be a stand-alone project like the upcoming Joaquin Phoenix Joker film. Give the lighter look of films like Wonder Woman 1984 and Shazam, it would not be a surprise if the movie is used to brighten up the red and blue tights before Man of Steel 2 comes back in a quasi-soft-reboot style, with a tone that is more in-line with the original Christopher Reeves films.
