There seems to be no letting up for our love of mutants and the X-Men as indicated with the box office success of “X-Men Origins: Wolverine” and the instant greelighting of a Deadpool spin off and a soon to be “X-Men Origins: Magneto” film. Therefore, it’s no surprise that cranking out X-Men related films is key on Fox’s to-do-list, who may lose their Marvel license within a few years to Disney.
According to “Wolverine” actor Tim Pocock, “X-Men: First Class” may start to shoot as early as 2010.
“Currently shooting Australian TV series till February 2010…then X-men first class,” the actor twittered.
“First Class,” which is based on the younger adventures of Cyclops, Jean Grey, Iceman and Beast has been rumored to be helmed by Bryan Singer, although nothing official has been stated. If Pocock’s comments pans out, it’s assumed that Pocock will play Cyclops with Patrick Stewart possibly returning as their mentor Charles Xavier.
While it’s still premature to state for a fact that we can expect “First Class” to begin filming in 2010, the possibility is intriguing nonetheless.
