In a recent interview with MTV, the “Zombieland” duo of Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese discusses their soon-to-be “Zombieland” sequel.
Among giving Tallahassee (Woody Harrelson) a love interest, “Zombieland 2” is expected to be in 3D.
“We entirely want to write with 3-D in mind,” Wernick told MTV. Reese added, “We want you to be looking down at your popcorn to make sure there isn’t blood on it. There will be a lot of fluids flying!”
The duo also admits that they plan on keeping the core group consisting of Tallahassee (Harrelson), Columbus (Jesse Eisenberg), Wichita (Emma Stone), and Little Rock (Abigail Breslin) together. But it doesn’t mean that they won’t be introducing new characters. With one of them potentially being Tallahassee’s love interest.
Furthermore, Reese and Wernick also plan to further explore the coming-of-age storyline for Little Rock, the younger sister of Wichita.
“Growing up in a world that’s not necessarily geared towards growing up; it’s a world that forces you to grow up much quicker than you would have otherwise.”
“Zombieland2” is currently in early development with no firm release date. Both Wernick and Reese have been a hot commodity after their hit, and are also slated to be writing the upcoming “Deadpool” film starring Ryan Reynolds, as well as the “G.I. Joe” sequel.
