Congrats to Joss Whedon, whose online sensation “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog” is now a bona fide 2009 Emmy winner! “Dr. Horrible” was part of a new Emmy category called short-format-action-entertainment that recognized web-shorts and other similar entertainment. In honor of Whendon’s much deserved official recognition, YBMW has put together a list of 18 things to look for in the Emmy-winning “Dr. Horrible’s Sing-Along Blog,” a musical tragicomedy short film about aspiring super villain Dr. Horrible (Neil Patrick Harris), his nemesis, Captain Hammer (Nathon Fillion), and their mutual love interest, Penny (Felicia Day).
The entire short film can be watched online at http://www.drhorrible.com/
Fans of the short may also be interested in knowing that a sequel is currently in the works. “We’ve been working on one. We’ve been working on writing. The writers, we all have jobs, I’m happy to say,” says Whedon according to Sci Fi Wire. When asked how the Emmy might change or if it’d appear as a feature film, Whedon just replied, “It’s very confusing. We don’t understand.”
