Ecco Personal Tracker
Do you have someone in your life who is always getting lost in the parking lot? This is the thing for them. It is a little keychain fob that is tied in to GPS. When you get out of your car just activate it with the press of a button. Then, when you finish in the store, hit the return button and the Ecco points you right to your car and lets you know how many feet away you are. We tested it several times and up to five miles away. It is simple to use and can be a real life saver for your more absent minded friends and relatives.

Switch 2 Health Fitness Watch
Hands down, this is one of the coolest gifts we got to test out this year. The Switch 2 Health watch is more than just a watch. It is a way to earn cool swag while shedding pounds!!! There’s a sensor in the watch that measures your activity and will credit you for 60 minutes of vigorous activity a day (Slip it in your sock if you are biking). After you’ve accrued an hour of sweatin to the oldies, just upload the code on the watch to the website and it banks 60 points for you.
Here’s where it gets awesome. You can trade your points for anything from MP3s and ringtones to gift certificates or even full console systems like PS3 and XBox 360. It’s great motivation to get moving for someone of any age. It is also a great tool for parents who have chubby kids with expensive tastes. Make them earn their own stuff with sweat. You’ll save on shopping and future medical bills!

Digital Pocket Breathalyzer
This is one of those things that isn’t super fancy or very special, but is just a smart thing to get and it only costs six dollars. Don’t get me wrong, it was fun to test.. Who doesn’t love drinking just to see if a breathalyzer works… It does. If you are hosting a holiday party this year, or if you are going anywhere where you or someone you care about is drinking, this is just one of those things that makes sense to have in your pocket or purse.

Light for life 5.11 tactical flashslight
You know there are some people who use their cell phones as a flash light now? That is one wussy flashlight. If the Light for Life 5.11 Tactical flashlight met your phone’s flashlight in an alley, it would beat him up, take his money and then make it dance for him under his mighty strobe. What I’m trying to say here is that this is one Bad A$$ flashlight.
This flashlight has proven to be awesome no matter what we’ve done to it. We’ve dropped it, hit things with it.. it still works. It only takes 90 seconds to get a decent charge on it and the 3 internal LED’s will put out a blinding 270 lumens in both straight and strobe lights for 50,000 hours. It can be charged in the house or the car and while it’s big (16 oz), it is comfy. Sure, not the flashiest gift in the world, but if you are looking for one of those ultimate gifts for campers, or people who live in storm prone areas… this is near the top of the list.

The Wiki Reader
We thought the Wiki Reader was a great little gadget because it opens up part of the internet’s vast knowledge base without having to go online. This little mini reader, about the size of a large coaster has everything you’ll find on Wikipedia… and we mean everything. No matter what we tried to trip this thing up with, it was able to find the answer.
It was super simple to use and we can see it as an excellent tool for travel or just a good general reference tool for people who aren’t going to hop onto their smartphone to find out when skyline Chili was invented.

Moji tension release vest
$69.95
Headaches and sore shoulders suck, but in this stressed out world we live in, they are common. We had a chance to test this out on a family member who suffers from both and the Moji Tension Release vest actually helped them. Sure, it looks a little silly when you put it on, but it was comfortable and easy to manage. Just a short time in the microwave and you are treated to this super relaxing moist heat that warms you to the core and loosens you up as it soothes. If it can bring as much relief to someone you care about as it did to our tester, then you would be a fool not to grab it.
One extra bit of coolness on this vest. It doesn’t just do your neck and shoulders. if it’s your lower back that is hurting, just flip it over and it will do the trick.

Kombi Touch Screen Gloves
I moved to Florida just so I wouldn’t have to use stuff like this, but most of you live somewhere that’s cold right now. For you, these Kombi Gloves are a great thing to have in your pocket. They are comfortable and good looking gloves that solve the biggest problem of any tech savvy snow-bunny. They will still let you operate your touch screen on your smart phones. I tried them on to see how they worked and they do a great job. They are also super comfy. Then I took them off… because it is 83 degrees outside. They come in men’s and women’s sizes in grey/black print for men and black/blue print, grey/fuschia print and black/purple print for women.

Handy cooler personal air conditioner
I really liked this Handy cooler as a gift for active and outdoorsy people in your life. At its core, the Handy Cooler is a fan cools the air through a damp sponge that is inside the unit. It worked surprisingly well. We tested this both indoors and outdoors and, while it didn’t freeze us out, it definitely helped bring a little cool to us on a hot afternoon.
We could see this being a great gift for campers or sports fans or just people who sweat a lot.

Deluxe Survival Kit
After testing this survival kit, it is pretty clear that there isn’t anyone in your life who wouldn’t benefit from finding this under their tree this year. heck, with the saw that comes with it, they can cut the tree down themselves!
This survival kit has some amazing tools in it that could really help you out in a dire situation. I don’t think I’d ever go camping again without it… and I’m keeping it in my car at all times otherwise. The kit comes with an amazing one handed Blastmatch fire starter that can create sparks in any situation and is way easier to use than even matches. Next you’ve got the Wetfire Tinder. This stuff is amazing. It will light on fire even when it’s wet. The Starflash signal mirror could really save you in a pinch. It is the only signal mirror I’ve ever seen that lets you aim to make sure the person you are signaling can see you. The Jetscream whistle makes sure that you can make a loud enough noise to be heard for miles, even in the rain. Finally, the Sabercut saw is just awesome. It’s a hand-operated chain saw that will cut in both directions and cleans itself as it goes. All together, there aren’t many problems that this kit can’t get you out of.

Media Box
Do you have that friend who always seems to be able to get copies of movies before they come out on DVD? Or the friend who is always making homemade videos and tricking you into watching them? This is a good gift for them. The media box will actually take away their need to burn so many CDs and DVD’s. It just hooks right up to your TV and then you can plug in a flash card or a USB drive with the movie and on it and you done. You are saving landfills from suffering hundreds of extra disc and you no longer have to wait for them to burn you a file. It’s not just a cool gift, but it’s actually pretty darn handy.

Ifrogz Ear Pollution Bomb Speakers
If you want to share your music, but still need something portable that won’t break the bank, this is a great set of speakers. The Bomb just looks cool. It is a full set of stereo speakers that fit together into a ball the size of a baseball. Even the wires fit inside it so you don’t get any damaged connectors from them hanging out.
We gave these speakers a thorough test. Look, if you are expecting something like the Bose Wave radio.. you are not going to get that, but for the price, these will give you great sound and excellent portability.

Origaudio rock-it … make speakers out of any smooth surface
This is one of those cool gifts that will pretty much make anyone stop and take notice. This vibration based speaker system can be attached to any smooth surface so that it can be used as a speaker. We tried it on everything from tissue boxes and cups to picture frames, glass windows and a glass table top. All of them gave immediate sound amplification. Honestly, it’s not going to be amazing hi-def sound, but it makes carrying around music that you want other people to hear really easy. Plus, there isn’t anyone out there who won’t stop and tell you how cool this thing is when you pull it out and stick it to their… well, their anything. Along with the cool factor, we liked that the Rock It not only works on two AA batteries, but it can also be used with a USB.

Mimoco Designer Mimobot 2 gig USB Flash Drive
Don’t you just hate those plain, boring USB Flash Drives? Mimoco has been around for a few years, but they still are the kings of bringing a little bit of style to the world of portable memory storage. Their Mimobots are almost part vinyl figure and part USB… but they aren’t vinyl. They just feature some great work from vinyl artists like the Tokidoki design below. They also have great designs from Star Wars, Hello Kitty and Halo. We loved playing with these little guys an think that they’d make a perfect gift for the geek in your life.
