I’ll admit that there’s not a lot of times you’ll see me give props to the French Canadians. In fact, I’d usually just make some sort of French or Poutine Joke that ended in the word surrender and that would be the end of it. However, after seeing the world of Patrick Boivin, I’m inclined to think that maybe there is something worth saving up in the frozen tundra.
If you haven’t heard of him, Patrick Boivin is a Cinematographer, Director, Writer and editor who has not only done some pretty fantastic “normal work, but he has also created some truly amazing and weird stop-motion animations featuring Boba Fett and several Transformers. He’s done everything from pit the Autobot Jazz against the Dukes of Hazzard’s General Lee, to have Boba Fett re-create the big scene from “Flash Dance”, to even having Optimus Prime do an interpretation of the viral video hit: The Evolution of Dance.
His newest vid is Jazz vs. The General Lee, but you should check out all of his stuff if you have some time.
