Mattel Secures License For ‘Back To The Future’ Toys

According to the website Global License, Mattel has recently secured the “Back to the Future” license from Universal pictures to do “Back to the Future” action figures, accessories and toy vehicles (worldwide).

Not much else is known aside from this. Internet speculations have been rampant since new broke. It’s wildly speculated that they could appear as online exclusive through Mattel’s collector website Mattycollector.com, similar to their Ghostbusters and Masters of the Universe Classics lines. If this is the case they would appear as 6″ highly detailed and articulated figures with a few variants thrown in.

Personally, I would prefer a 3-4″ line only because Marty and Doc just wouldn’t be the same without their Delorean, and rarely do you ever see 6″ figures with vehicles.
