Mega bloks company, Mega has signed a licensing deal with Blizzard Entertainment to official produce Mega Blok sets based on popular computer games Warcraft and Starcraft II.
According to Toy News Online, the initial lines will feature “locations characters and vehicles from World of Warcraft and Starcraft II: Wings of Liberty.”
The multi-year international deal follows in the footsteps of Mega’s previous Halo and Need for Speed video game licenses.
Vic Bertrand, chief innovation officer of Mega Brands had htis to say:
“The depth of content in World of Warcraft and Starcraft will fuel years of fun, collectible products for gamers and collectors. We’re proud and thrilled to enter into a partnership with Blizzard Entertainment, the world leader in creating epic online game franchises.”
Both World of Warcraft and Starcraft II have garnered millions of dedicated fans and is even wildly acknowledged in Korea as a professional sport.
Fans can expect the series of Warcraft and Starcraft II Mega Bloks sets to hit retail next summer in 2012.
