If you’ve ever watched Star Wars: A New Hope, you learned very quickly that there’s only one rule when it comes to Holochess… let the wookiee win. As iconic as holochess might be to fans of the Star Wars saga, there’s never been a truly great replica of the creatures from the chess board until now. That’s the good news, the bad news is that you are going to have to smuggle a lot of spice to cover the cost.

The highly detailed replica figures are being sold in two-packs for between $850-1250 per set over at BBTS. If you’re a fan of Regal Robots’ replicas, there’s no doubt that they make some of the highest quality Star Wars merch that’s ever been made. We’re just wishing we hadn’t already spent our stimmy.

Product Description

From Regal Robot, these hand-painted static resin replica Holochess (Dejarik) sets are 1-to-1 scale with the actual puppets used in filming the stop-motion chess sequences from the Star Wars Saga!

Each replica was prototyped using the digital files that Phil Tippett’s team created in 2015, utilizing 3D scanning and photogrammetry of the original props used in Star Wars: A New Hope to accurately recreate the wildly imaginative creatures he and Jon Berg hand-sculpted in 1977.

Using these files, along with reference provided by Lucasfilm and never-before-seen photos which Phil had saved from 1977, these talented artists created incredibly detailed replicas, taking great care to maintain the integrity and lineage.
