Weird Al’s back with this catchy tune satirizing American foreign policy and parodying a worthless pop tune from a talent-less hack. The song is on the album Alpocalypse released on June 21st. This is the first time Al has satirized father / daughter artists. ‘Achy Breaky Song’ parodied the hit ‘Achy Breaky Heart’ from Billy Ray Cyrus. The main question is ‘Is it funny?’ I think it’s one of Al’s better tunes in the last few albums. It’s definitely a darker tune than a lot of his stuff in general but, either way it’s nice to laugh with Al again.
On another note Weird Al has stated that he will be making a music video for every song on the album. This is a first for Al as well and hopefully we’ll see some funny stuff come out of it and not just a lot of quick filler.
