In the Spanish town of Galicia, the residents host an annual festival for a popular green vegetable locally referred to as grelo. While foodies around the world might recognize the veggie as rapini, Google translate did not and the result was a festival brochure that bragged about how: “The clitoris is one of the typical products of Galician cuisine,” and “Since 1981, the festival has made the clitoris one of the star products of the local gastronomy.”
It seems that Google translate mistook the Castillian word Grelo for the Portuguese word Grello. While the latter means rapini as well, it is an archaic Portuguese slang term for “clitoris.”
