What better medium to experience the death of Hello Kitty and Superman than through the art of Crotchet? I can only guess that is what was running through the mind of Patricia Waller when she started crocheting death scenes of everyone from Spongebob Squarepants to Whinnie the Pooh.
Her subversive art is currently on display at the Gallery Deschler in Berlin and the show is called Broken Heroes.
Some of these images are pretty messed up. I’m actually not even sure about one of them. Did Minnie Mouse die from a botched abortion?
