Watch the Surgery For the World’s First 3D Printed Skull Implantation

File this under weird science or possibly just “the future is now.” There’s now a Dutch woman walking around with the world’s first 3D printed skull in her head. How cool is that?!?

the lucky new skull owner is a 22-year-old dutch woman who was suffering from a condition that caused her skull to keep thickening, causing her pain, the ability to make facial expressions, and risk of death.

The cool part of 3D printing is that it actually allows the docs to create custom fit parts to fit the individual patient.

Now, just 3 months after the surgery, the woman is back to normal and even back to work.

The pics we are showing are kinda graphic, the video shows the actual surgery, so beware if you can’t handle the sight of exposed brain.
