It’s usually the Stormtroopers doing the harassing, but this time, it was the Canadian police harassing a loyal employee of the empire. Well, maybe not the empire, but the 19-year-old woman in the costume was working on the sidewalk to promote his boss’s Star Wars-themed restaurant, Coco Vanilla Galactic Cantina in Lethbridge, Ont.
While walking back and forth, promoting the restaurant on the sidewalk, the police approached, after noticing her blaster rifle. Despite putting her weapon on the ground when told to by authorities, the cops claimed that she was non-complaint and forced her to the ground, giving her a bloody nose in the process. Meanwhile, all of this was happening on Star Wars day, May 4th.
As news spread across the great white north, it wasn’t a Star Wars character that took up the cause of this wayward trooper. No, it was Captain Kirk himself, William Shatner. Check out his response below:
