I think he did and here’s why that’s a good thing. We’ve heard more from George Lucas in the last couple weeks than we have in the last few years when it comes to the latest chapters in the Star Wars Saga. In the last couple of weeks, he did a few interviews that sounded a little on the bitter side. Among his complaints were that he knew what he’d want to do with episode VII, but he can’t make the movie he wants because fans have expectations of what they want to see on the screen.

Now, keep in mind, the movies he wanted to make most recently were the prequels. He was admittedly driven towards the soap opera of the Skywalker clan. That’s what gave us Attack of the Clones and the world’s most boring love story between Padme and Anakin.

Lucas is now among the lucky few who have seen Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and this is what he had to say about it:

“I think the fans are going to love it. It’s very much the kind of movie they’ve been looking for.”

It sounds very much like he didn’t like the movie. If that means it’s nothing like the prequels, I’m all for it.
