It’s not very often that a comic book movie gets any love from the critics in the top films of the year lists, but the National Board of Review has just released their picks for best movies of the year and the final outing of Hugh Jackman as Wolverine actually popped up on their list. That’s right, among a list of ten films including: Baby Driver, Call Me by Your Name, The Disaster Artist, and Downsizing, Logan was picked as one of this year’s best movies. rounding out the top ten were: Dunkirk, The Florida Project, Get Out, Lady Bird, and Phantom Thread. Unfortunately, Logan didn’t get the pick as best movie of the year. That went to Steven Spielberg’s The Post.

The Post actually ended up getting several honors from the NBR including the aforementioned Best picture, Best actress (Meryl Streep), and Best Actor (Tom Hanks).
