DragonCon 2009 is over, and these pictures are long overdue. But come take a look anyway at some of the more interesting costumes presented this year at the Dragon*Con convention in Atlanta, Georgia.
The 23rd Dragon*Con was yet again another outstanding 4-day event, with approximately 3500 hours of programing and some fabulous guest appearances such as William Shatner, Leonard Nimoy and Patrick Stewart. If Toys”R”Us is a place where a kid can be a kid, then Dragon*Con is a place where fantasy and sci-fi lovers can geekout and proudly display their fandom.
Not only that, 2009 was also D*Con’s attempt to beat the Guinness World Record for the amount of people simultaneously dancing to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller” in a single location! 903 dancers participated and below is video proof of that awesomeness. Much like the spontaneous “Thriller” group dance that erupted during Fanime 2009’s Black and White Ball, this was just another event that you had to be there to fully appreciate and experience. The good new, however, is that D*Con are hoping it can become an annual event.
