Tom Hiddleston (Thor, Midnight in Paris, War Horse) who ruled the box office in 2011 is hoping to continue his domination this year as he’s set to replace Michael Fassbender (X-Men: First Class), another actor who ruled 2011, in indie director Jim Jarmusch’s upcoming vampire film “Only Lovers Left Alive.”
Jarmusch describes the film as a “‘‘crypto-vampire love story’, set against the romantic desolation of Detroit and Tangiers.” And according to THR, the vampire drama is “described as an unusual love story between two vampires who have been in love for centuries.”
I’m not sure how I feel about another vampire film. But I’m certain that it’ll be better, if not very different than “Twilight” and other recent vampire dramas that have been made. I very much enjoyed Jarmusch’s “Broken Flowers” with Bill Murray so I’m more than willing to give this a chance.
Joining Hiddleston will be fellow actors Tilda Swinton, Mia Wasikowska and John Hurt.
“Only Lovers Left Alive” will shoot in Germany later this year.
