Legion is a great show, but there’s potentially an even better Marvel Mutant series coming in the near future. The as of yet untitled show is being created by Burn Notice creator, Matt Nix and will focus on two human parents that have to go on the run with their mutant children. They end up connecting to what sounds like The X-Men, and adventure ensues.
Not too long ago, it was announced that Blair Redford would be playing Sam, “the strong-headed leader of the underground network.” Right now, we don’t know if he’s a new character or one from existing X-Men cannon. I kind of hope he ends up being Cannonball. Today we got the name of one of his teammates, and I couldn’t be more excited. We now know that Blink is going to be in the show and she’ll be played by Gotham’s Jamie Chung.
Let’s face it, Fan Bing Bing’s portrayal of the character in Days of Future Past wasn’t that great, but she’s always been a favorite of mine, ever since I used to read Exiles (pretty much the Quantum Leap/ Sliders of the Marvel universe)
Here’s the description of the TV version of the character from Variety:
Chung is set to bring Clarice Fong (Clarice Ferguson in the comics), a.k.a. Blink, to the small screen in the untitled live-action X-Men TV pilot in a take on the character described as “sarcastic, lively and a bit of a tomboy [with a] naturally strong exuberance [that] has taken a hit after a sudden and traumatic upheaval of her life. As she adjusts to the new people and places that are suddenly “home,” she is slowly becoming herself again.” The 20th Century Fox TV and Marvel Television series “will focus on two ordinary parents who discover their children possess mutant powers. Forced to go on the run from a hostile government, the family joins up with an underground network of mutants and must fight to survive.”
