Growing up, every summer was spent at a Jewish summer camp in New England. The camp kept completely Kosher, but I still remember one Rabbi who missed bacon during those two months a year so much, he kept a container of Bacos (an artificial bacon substitute) in his pocket. Every so often, he’d sneak it out of his pocket and shake some of the crunchy fake bacon bits into his mouth like they were Tic Tacs. That was a long time ago, and I’m not even sure if he’s still alive. If he is, this might be where he wants to go when this summer rolls around.

It’s called Zingerman’s Bacon Camp, and it is a five day, four night sleep away camp for bacon lovers and it sounds like it could just be the ultimate bacon lover’s paradise.

Welcome to Camp Bacon! Every spring bacon lovers, bacon makers, and enthusiasts flock to Ann Arbor, Michigan (home of Zingerman’s!) to talk, taste and toast all things bacon-related. Here’s a preview!
