As we edge closer to fall, we also move closer to the final season of The CW’s Arrow. We already know that the new season will involve a massive ‘Crisis on Infinite Earths’ crossover and that Oliver Queen has seemingly bargained his own life in exchange for the fate of the multiverse. Now we are learning that two very dead characters will be coming back to help end things in style.

According to a new interview with showrunner Beth Schwartz,  Colin Donnell and Josh Segarra are both slated to guest-star in the final season of the show. Donnell played Oliver’s best buddy, Tommy Merlin, in the first season before dying in dramatic fashion. He has periodically re-appeared throughout the series as both alternate reality versions of the character and last season, as Oliver’s subconscious. Outside of Arrow, Donnell has been a fixture on NBC’s Chicago Med, but his final episode on that series will be the upcoming series premiere this fall.

Segarra, meanwhile starred as the big bad who did some of the deepest emotional damage to Oliver in season 5, Adrian Chase/Prometheus.

“Adrian Chase comes back in a different way than expected,” showrunner/executive producer Beth Schwartz tells EW. “We’re really excited about that because obviously he’s one of our favorite villains.” Meanwhile, Donnell is “not coming back as the Tommy we know,” teases executive producer Marc Guggenheim.

The final season of Arrow returns Oct. 15 at 9 p.m. on The CW, but we will probably get the first real trailer for the season during the show’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Saturday, July 20 at 3:30 p.m. PT in Ballroom 20.
