It’s hard to gauge the excitement for Marvel’s Black Widow. Don’t get me wrong. Fans were stoked to see this movie last year. Now it almost feels like we’re going to get a peek into a lost MCU movie that never came out because the world shut down. In the meantime, not one, but two different MCU TV series have dropped on Disney+ in the form of Wandavision and The Falcon and The Winter Soldier, and Loki is set to drop its first episode a month before Natasha Romanov’s film sees its first screen. In some ways,
Personally, I’m still excited for what this movie can bring to the party for MCU fans. Black Widow is a great character who has deserved her own movie for years and it’s a shame that she had to die to get one. It’s an even greater shame that the pandemic could mean it gets seen by a much smaller crowd than would have seen it the first time around.
So, between now and the July 9th premiere in both theaters and on Disney+ premier, Marvel is going to crank the promotion train into high gear and that starts now with new character posters for Natasha Romanov (Scarlet Johannsen), Yelena (Florence Pugh), Alexei/The Red Guardian (David Harbour), Melina Rachel Weisz, and O-T Fagbenle as probably Taskmaster.
