Captain America: Brave New World is Anthony Mackie’s first big screen solo-outing as Captain America and the stakes are high for both Marvel Studios and The MCU. The new film will set a lot of the events of the next several Marvel films into action, and that includes the introduction of the Red Hulk, played by Harrison Ford as the replacement for William Hurt, who passed away a little over a year ago.
The film has gone through a series of rewrites and reshoots as Kevin Feige tries to make sure that it is a film that fans want and deserve, but it has not been easy going. Flagging interest in the MCU due to some lackluster projects, as well as the conflict between Israel and Palestine creating worry over an Israeli superhero in the film (Sabra played by Shira Haas), have made the entire thing a little more complicated than Disney was hoping for.
We were expecting our first trailer for the film to hit in Hall H during Comic Con, but the gods have been good to us and we got our first look today. Other than some CGI on Red Hulk that we are hoping gets improved before the film’s February 14, 2025, we’re liking the vibe. It feels like they are leaning a lot closer to a Winter Soldier style movie, and that’s never a bad thing.
