I guess he could be considered to be America’s 007, but Jack Ryan still has a long way to go before he reaches quite the same level of stature. However, along with being a grade A super spy, the Tom Clancy created character has one thing in common with bond, he’s been played by an ever increasing number of actors.

When Ryan first hit the big screen back in the 90’s it was as Alec Baldwin in “The Hunt for Red October.” Next up, they added a few years and gave the job to Harrison Ford for a few years before dipping his ass in the fountain of youth when he was taken over by Ben Affleck in “The Sum of All Fears.”

Now it looks like Jack Ryan already has another face. According to Variety, Paramount is in final negotiations with Star Trek’s new Kirk, Chris Pine, to take over Jack Ryan for a reboot of the Clancy novels.
