‘Avengers: Infinity War’ is going to be big. In the comics, the entire universe of heroes finds its way to the battlefield. We are finally starting to get a peek at what that could mean on the big screen. Last week we posted comments from the Russo Bros that teased the idea of bringing the Defenders (Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Luke Cage, Iron Fist, and possibly Punisher) in to the film. Today, we’ve gotten confirmation from Benedict Cumberbatch that Doctor Strange will also have a part to play in the film.
It came up when Cumberbatch was asked what his next gig would be as the Sorcerer Supreme, and he responded with this:
“It was the logistical challenge of aligning his schedule with those of Robert Downey Jr, Chris Hemsworth, Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany. To get us all together will be quite something. That’s why this character is being introduced, to open up the next chapter.”
With a list of characters like the ones included in his quote, the only real answer could be that he’ll be appearing in ‘Avengers: Infinity War.’ While we won’t see that film until May 4, 2018, Doctor Strange hits theaters in just over a month on November 4th.
