It’s been feeling like the reason most films are ending up on Netflix instead of the big screen is that the studios are realizing that the movies aren’t good enough to make their money back in the theaters. That has been making getting excited about Netflix films more and more difficult lately, but when the team behind films like Fargo and Raising Arizona are behind the wheel, there’s still some hope, right?
If their latest western has one thing going for it, it’s that the film has a hell of a cast. Starting with Buster Scruggs himself, we’ve got Tim Blake Nelson. But, backing him up is a star-studded cast that includes: yne Daly, James Franco, Brendan Gleeson, Bill Heck, Grainger Hines, Zoe Kazan, Harry Melling, Liam Neeson, Jonjo O’Neill, Chelcie Ross, Saul Rubinek, Tom Waits, Clancy Brown, Jefferson Mays, Stephen Root, and Willie Watson.
We’ll know whether or not The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is worth a spot in your watch list when it hits Netflix and select theaters on November 19th.
The Ballad of Buster Scruggs is a six-part Western anthology film, a series of tales about the American frontier told through the unique and incomparable voice of Joel and Ethan Coen. Each chapter tells a distinct story about the American West.
