Sony’s Spider-Man free Spider-man villain film is shaping up to be an interesting experience. While hopes for the film seem to be high, expectations are pretty low. They’ve got a stellar cast by way of Tom Hardy, Michelle Williams, Riz Ahmed, Reid Scott, and Jenny Slate, but fans are having trouble with the idea of a Venom film that doesn’t have Spider-Man. They are also a little worried about what seems like a really rushed process. The movie just wrapped shooting in the last month or so, but we already have a trailer, and the film is set for an October release.
I’m more than a little curious about the film. Venom could be a really interesting character and it sounds like he’s going to be more of a vigilante who must wrestle his dark side than just a bad guy who is running around, killing people for fun. It’ll also be fun to see what, if anything they decide to do with Carnage.
