A couple days ago, we showed you the first teaser for Steven Spielberg’s Abraham Lincoln film, LINCOLN, starring Daniel Day Lewis as President Lincoln. Today, we have the first full trailer that was released online after Spielberg and Joseph Gordon Levitt did a live chat on Google this afternoon.
I’m still amazed at how uncannily they were able to nail the likeness, but I’m having a little trouble getting past the voice that Lewis chose to use for The President. Growing up, we’ve all see Lincoln impersonators and they always feature a booming low voice. I don’t know if that was accurate, but it is what I’ve always known. Lewis’ inflection is much softer and in a much higher register. It might take a little bit of getting used to.
Along with Daniel Day Lewis, the film also stars Joseph Gordon-Levitt, David Oyelowo, Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, James Spader, John Hawkes, Michael Stuhlbarg, David Strathairn, Walton Goggins, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Jackie Earle Haley, Lee Pace and Jared Harris.
Lincoln opens on November 16th.
