It’s not just been a day of trailers, it feels like a day of trailers that are largely about saying goodbye to characters we love. It’s been known for a while that James Gunn has said this would be the last film for this version of the Guardians of The Galaxy and the tone of this trailer definitely makes it feel like we’re about to reach the climax of a story that has now spanned several films and an excellent Holiday special.
The first trailer for the movie shows the guardians in their comic-accurate costumes as Peter is still navigating his way through the loss of Gamora. It also introduces the High Evolutionary (Peacemaker’s Chukwudi Iwuji), a classic Marvel villain who also happens to be the one who created Rocket as well as getting our first look at Adam Warlock played by Will Poulter.
