There’s been a plan for a He-Man/ Masters of The Universe film for several years now, but the studio hasn’t been able to pull it together yet. The last news on the film was that The Dark Knight writer, David Goyer, along with Aaron and Adam Nee were working on a script, but the resulting screenplay didn’t meet the expectations of the studio. Now, Sony and Mattel Films have brought in their go-to fix-it writers (Art Marcum and Matt Holloway) to push out a new draft for the film. The writing team has worked on the upcoming Men in Black: International as well as previous films: Iron Man and Transformers: The Last Knight, as well as Punisher: War Zone.
The Nee Brothers are still set to direct the film, but it will be interesting to see if they leave, now that they won’t be working from their own script.
