Kevin Smith Says Mallrats 2 Will Be a 10-Episode TV Series

Mallrats is one of the great, underrated films of Kevin Smith and there’s been a plan to do a sequel for a long time. Now, it looks like we’ll get it, but not as a new movie.

In a new interview with Philadelphia’s Preston and Steve morning radio show on WMMR, Kevin Smith has announced that he and Universal are close to an agreement on making the sequel to Mallrats into a ten-episode TV series.”

There’s no details beyond that. No casting, no network (we are guessing Netflix or Amazon), no details at all.

While I’m sure that some of the original cast would be clamoring to come back, cast members like Ben Affleck and Michael Rooker might be a little busy. I just hope Stan Lee returns.
