The Walking Dead ended with more of a whimper than a bang, but the franchise still has high hopes for it’s future. Along with the upcoming final season of Fear The Walking Dead and the currently filming series around Darryl, and Maggie/Negan, there’s also the long-awaited return to the story of Rick Grimes and Michonne. Originally set to be multiple films, waning interest in The Walking Dead and several other factors shifted the strategy over to a limited series set to air in 2024.
Today, Deadine is reporting that Lesley-Ann Brandt (Mazikeen on Lucifer) has joined the cast of the show in the role of Pearl Thorne. There are currently no details available about who the character is or what part she plays in the story. She joins a cast that already includes Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira who are reprising the roles of Rick Grimes and Michonne respectively.
Synopsis:
The series presents an epic love story of two characters changed by a changed world. Kept apart by distance. By an unstoppable power. By the ghosts of who they were. Rick and Michonne are thrown into another world, built on a war against the dead… And ultimately, a war against the living. Can they find each other and who they were in a place and situation unlike any they’ve ever known before? Are they enemies? Lovers? Victims? Victors? Without each other, are they even alive — or will they find that they, too, are the Walking Dead?
