To say that the promotional tour of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power has gotten off to a rocky start would be an understatement to say the least, but Amazon has put over $1 billion into the development of the series that is based on some of the works of J.R.R. Tolkien, and they aren’t going to give up that easily.

Today’s Comic-Con panel saw the release of a new trailer for the series, one that is hitting hard to try to recapture the fans of the Peter Jackson LOTR films. In the new footage, we not only get a ton of apocalyptic imagery involving Galadriel, but the rise of Sauron (why wasn’t that the name of the series instead of the Rings of Power?) and there’s even an appearance by a fan-favorite monster, The Balrog!
