If you haven’t seen Tank Girl with Lori Petty and Ice T, you are missing one of the best and most often overlooked comic book movies to have ever come out. When the movie came out in 1995, it only made $4 million against a production of $25, but the box office flop has gained enough of a cult following over the last 20 years. Now, Margot Robbie and her production company are thinking that it might be time to give the property another whirl.

The Suicide Squad/ Birds of Prey star looks like she might have studied Petty’s performance as Tank Girl when coming up with mannerisms for her take on Harley Quinn, so the idea of her wanting to make a reboot of the actual film makes a lot of sense.

The comic book’s original creator, Allan Martin recently took to social media to say that he’d heard Robbie’s company had optioned the rights to the film, but no one had reached out to him at that point.
