Fans of Marvel Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. have been asking the same question ever since the time travel into the past plotline was revealed at the end of last season. Will we be seeing Agent Carter/ Hayley Atwell making an appearance in the final season of the show? After all, we already know that Atwell is still active with Marvel and that she has voiced an upcoming episode of the Disney+’ Marvel’s What If?’ series in which we will see what happens if Agent Carter was given the super-soldier serum instead of Steve Rogers.
In a new interview with EW, it’s now been revealed that there will be a crossover with the Agent Carter series, but not with agent Carter herself (unless they are keeping it a secret). Instead, Enver Gjokaj will return as Daniel Sousa.
Here’s what Gjokaj had to say to EW about appearing in SHIELD:
“It wasn’t anywhere near my brain. I would’ve been thrilled at any moment for it to come back, but I think as an actor you don’t have time. You just have to move on to the next project.”
“What’s unexpectedly, for me, really fun is that we realized once we got Coulson and [Sousa] in the same scene that they’re very similar.”
The final season of Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD hits ABC on May 27th.
