I’ll admit, I’m not what you would call a huge Zac Efron fan. Sure. he’s dreamy, but I’ve yet to see him do anything where he has to act. Well, that’s all about to change. Somewhere a producer is crossing their fingers because they not only gave him a real movie role, but they’ve put him up against Claire Danes who has always been a fantastic actress… even in awful movies like Terminator: Rise of the machines.
Set in 1937 New York, the story centers on a high school student (Efron) who happens upon the yet-to-open Mercury Theatre and is noticed by its mercurial founder, Orson Welles. The man lands a part in “Julius Caesar,” the production that catapulted Welles to the top, and spends the next week learning about life and love.
