There’s a new trailer out for Spider-Man: Far From Home and it comes with a heavy spoiler warning for the two or three people left in the world who have yet to see Endgame. In fact, Sony and Marvel are being so careful about it that they had the prince of spoilers himself, Tom Holland, give a warning at the beginning of the trailer. Now, check it out and we’ll discuss the details afterward:
So, what are the big takeaways from the new movie? First, we are definitely post-Endgame and Peter is struggling to find his place in the world without the guiding hand of his mentor, Tony Stark. We don’t really get any sense of the broader integration of the snapped people back into the real world, but it looks like we find out that at least Ned, MJ, and Flash were also dusted along with half of the universe.
Here’s where things get weird. It looks like Sony is doubling down hard on the success of Into The Spider-Verse because Mysterio is from an alternate dimension. It’ll be very interesting to see what that means for Spider-Man and the MCU moving forward. Is this how they’ll explain the entry of the FOX heroes into the Marvel family? I’m inclined to think not because I can’t see Disney giving that honor to a Sony film.
