Ernest Cline’s Ready Player One was a great book and a love letter to any geek who grew up in the 80s and 90s. The film adaptation of the story, by Steven Spielberg wasn’t perfect, bu it was entertaining and did a decent job of doing the source material justice. Today, Ballantine Books, an imprint of Penguin Random House, has announced that the sequel novel, Ready Player Two, will hit bookshelves and your Kindle on Nov. 24.

Unfortunately, details for the new story are sparse. In fact, this is all that the Amazon pre-order listing for the book has to say:

The highly anticipated sequel to the beloved worldwide bestseller Ready Player One, the “ridiculously fun and large-hearted” (NPR) near-future adventure that inspired the blockbuster Steven Spielberg film.

We loved the original, and are definitely open to a sequel if the story is there. With that said, as much as we loved Ready Player one, we just couldn’t make it all the way through Cline’s follow-up novel, Armada.
