One of the most universally disliked things in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was Jesse Eisenberg’s portrayal of Lex Luthor, you know… other than the Martha thing. So, you can imagine that there weren’t a ton of fans who were thrilled when Eisenberg said that he was shooting scenes for Justice League. While there’s no doubt that those scenes were shot, it sounds like there’s growing doubt that we’ll see them in the finished product of the film.

Joss Whedon made a lot of changes since taking Justice League over from Zack Snyder, but this is the first we’ve heard of him completely removing a character fro the film. It’s not being reported from Batman News that Whedon has made some serious changes with his $25 million in reshoots. Among them are the removal of Lex from the film, and a complete change to the ending.

We don’t know how the ending was changed, but you can imagine it had something to do with making Justice League into more of a stand-alone film than a two-parter like was originally planned.

So, is this the last we’ll see of Lex in the DCEU? I’d be surprised, but it be might be the end of Eisenberg in the role before Luthor is recast post-Flashpoint.
