The streaming network war has just gone up a notch with the impending launch of the NBC/Universal entry into the market, Peacock. The hatchling streamer has just unveiled several trailers for some of their original upcoming offerings, but the one that people are talking about the most is the Saved By The Bell revival series.

The new show picks up life for a new generation at Bayside high with castmembers Haskiri Velazquez (The Birch), Mitchell Hoog (Harriet), Alycia Pascual-Pena (Chase) and Belmont Cameli (Empire). We’ll follow their trials and tribulations in a multi-camera format that feels more like Scrubs or Young Sheldon than the classic sitcom format of the original.

If you’re worried about this being a reboot, you can relax. Many of the old cast members are still around. Don’t expect to see Screech anytime soon, but Elizabeth Berkley, Mario Lopez and Mark-Paul Gosselaar are all part of the cast. Lopez’s AC Slater is now the gym teacher/ football coach at Bayside, and two of his students are Jessie Spano’s (Berkley) kid, and the son of Zack Morris (Gosselaar) and Kelly Kapowski (Tiffani Thiessen). There’s currently no word on if Tiffani will be appearing in the show. She can currently be seen on the Netflix original series, Alexa & Katie.

The Peacock network will roll-out on July 15th and Saved by The Bell is expected to drop later in 2020.
