If the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever trailer wasn’t enough excitement for you from Hall H tonight, and the announcement of the thirteen films and shows making up phase 4 didn’t do it for you, Marvel has also announced the start of Phase 6 of the MCU and it includes two different Avengers films coming out in the same year.
Three films were announced for the start of Phase 6 of the MCU. It looks like things will kick off with The release of the long-hoped-for, Fanstastic Four movie. There has been no casting announcement, but fans are hoping that we’ll get to see John Krasinski suit up again as Reed Richards, and there are several rumors pointing to Jason Segal having been possibly cast (and set to appear in character during She-Hulk ) as Ben Grimm, aka The Thing.
After FF hits theaters on November 8, 2024, we’ll get a little holiday break and then two different Avengers films hitting theaters in 2025. The first will be Avengers: The Kang Dynasty arriving on May 2, 2025 followed by the Phase 6 conclusion: Avengers; Secret Wars on November 7, 2025. There is no report on the directors for the Avengers films, but given that The Russo Bros have previously stated that Secret Wars was a dream project of theirs, we can’t imagine Marvel giving it to anyone else.
Marvel took more than a decade for the Infinity Saga, but it’s planning to knock out the entire next saga in just half the time. Can they pull it off without wearing out fans? Can they recapture the quality that critics say has been dropping since the end of Phase 3? We hope so!
