When the first trailer for the Sonic The Hedgehog live-action film dropped at the end of April, there was nearly universal anger at the creepy version of Sonic that had been created for the film. It goes a long way to explaining why the Youtube video of the trailer has nearly twice as many thumbs down as it does thumbs up. After the outcry, the studio said they would make it right and it looks like they actually did.

Thanks to Twitter user,  @BestInTheGalaxy who claims to have a friend who works at Paramount, we have some alleged pics taken of new promo art for the film, featuring a version of Sonic that is much closer to the original source material. Check them out below, and then check out the first trailer from April to see how bad it was.

SONIC THE HEDGEHOG is a live-action adventure comedy based on the global blockbuster videogame franchise from Sega that centers on the infamously brash bright blue hedgehog. The film follows the (mis)adventures of Sonic as he navigates the complexities of life on Earth with his newfound – human – best friend Tom Wachowski (James Marsden). Sonic and Tom join forces to try and stop the villainous Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) from capturing Sonic and using his immense powers for world domination. The film also stars Tika Sumpter and Ben Schwartz as the voice of Sonic.
