A few hours ago, Warner Bros released the first trailer for The LEGO Movie. Admittedly, when they first announced the film, I was a bit skeptical, but now that I’ve seen a bit of it, I might have to eat my words. One of the things that makes the film look fun to me is that it has a bit of a Roger Rabbit vibe in that it brings in characters from multiple license like Batman and The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
The film is voice by Chris Pratt, who leads the film as Emmet, an average Lego Minifigure who turns is mistaken for the saviour of the world and is tasked with going against Will Ferrel’s “President Business” who is trying to destroy it.
Also lending their voices to the film are Will Arnett, Elizabeth Banks, Liam Neeson, Nick Offerman, and Alison Brie.
The LEGO Movie opens on February 7, 2014.
Official Synopsis:
The 3D computer animated adventure tells the story of Emmet, an ordinary, rules-following, perfectly average LEGO minifigure who is mistakenly identified as the most extraordinary person and the key to saving the world. He is drafted into a fellowship of strangers on an epic quest to stop an evil tyrant, a journey for which Emmet is hopelessly and hilariously underprepared.
