A new trailer has dropped for Disney’s upcoming Little Mermaid live-action reboot and we are now getting a look at all of the main characters. We aren’t going to argue with you about Ariel. Halle Bailey is a very talented singer and we hope she pulls it off. Also, Melissa McCarthy looks good as Ursula and we hope she has the chops to really bring the evil. Our main gripes are with Flounder and Sebastian.
Look, we get that you want to make these “live-action,” but they aren’t. These are mostly CGI. It’s animation with a bit of live-action thrown in. Making these characters hyper-realistic pushes a sheen of uncanny valley over the whole environment… at least for us.
