After months of speculation, Lucasfilm and Disney have just announced the actor that will be taking on the role of a young Han Solo in the upcoming Star Wars spin-off film.
His name is Alden Ehrenreich and he’ll be donning the classic vest when Directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller— begin filming the new movie. To win the gig, Alden beat out Kingsman: The Secret Service star Taron Egerton, Transformers: Age of Extinction actor Jack Reynor, Miles Teller, Dave Franco, Ansel Elgort, and Brooklyn actor Emory Cohen.
If you’d like to check out his acting chops, you can find Ehrenreich in Beautiful Creatures, Woody Allen’s Blue Jasmine, and the Coen Brothers comedy Hail, Caesar!
That’s about all we know right now. The Han Solo film is set for release on May 25, 2018.
