Summit Entertainment just announced that “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Part 2 will get a November 16, 2012 release date.
Following the two parter approach started by Harry Potter (which I’m sure we’ll begin to see more of as theaters try to pry more money out of us), the final film of the Twilight franchise will be split into two parts each a year apart.
That means fans who watch “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn” Part 1 on November 18, 2011, will have to wait an entire calendar year before part two hits. While this may irk even the most devoted Twi-nerd, it will give Summit more opportunities to promote and hawk their wares from their major-and-soon-to-end vampire tweeny franchise.
It also probably means there’s a chance fans will get to see the stars at Comic-Con one last time in 2012. Which means we haven’t yet seen the last of Twilight tent city/community outside Hall H.
