While most Spielberg fans are focused on the upcoming release of Ready Player One and news that ‘Indiana Jones 5’ will begin production soon, there are still some people who are wondering what ever happened to the promised sequel of 2011’s The Adventures of Tintin: The Secret of the Unicorn. While promoting the adaptation of Ernest Cline’s novel, he was asked about the statue of the sequel by Premier France:

“Peter Jackson has to do the second part,” he said. “Normally, if all goes well, he will soon start working on the script. As it takes two years of animation work on the film, I wouldn’t expect to see it be released for at least another three years. But Peter will stick with it. Tintin is not dead!”

I’m curious to see how the last seven years of advancement in motion capture technology and animation will impact the final product.
