You might think you know about the Transformers, but you didn’t know their secret history on the planet Earth until now! Seriously… this new video from Michael Bay, which is probably a clip from the upcoming Transformers: The Last Knight, has Sir Anthony Hopkins (Whom I’m still convinced is playing an older King Author or possibly Merlin in the upcoming film) telling us, and probably Mark Whalberg, that Transformers have been here forever. They helped the Samurai, and even fought the Nazis. So… I guess move over Captain America? The Autobots have this handled (but not handled enough to stop the slaughter of 10 million innocent Jews, Catholics, Gypsies, Homosexuals, and others deemed undesirable by the Third Reich).
Sounds like someone is building as many spin-off opportunities as possible.
Transformers: The Last Knight opens on June 21st and stars: Mark Wahlberg, Anthony Hopkins, Laura Haddock, Stanley Tucci, Jerrod Carmichael, John Goodman, John Turturro, Josh Duhamel, Isabela Moner, Gil Birmingham, and Jean Dujardin.
The Last Knight shatters the core myths of the Transformers franchise, and redefines what it means to be a hero. Humans and Transformers are at war, Optimus Prime is gone. The key to saving our future lies buried in the secrets of the past, in the hidden history of Transformers on Earth. Saving our world falls upon the shoulders of an unlikely alliance: Cade Yeager (Mark Wahlberg); Bumblebee; an English Lord (Sir Anthony Hopkins); and an Oxford Professor (Laura Haddock).
